Easter holiday in Prague |
Easter holiday in Prague![]() Probably the first thing you came across in various brochures about Easter in Prague are the Easter markets. They take place right in the centre of Prague on the Wenceslas and Old Town Square, so you can connect them with sightseeing. They bring the atmosphere of coming spring in the Czech metropolis every year. You can see a lot of symbols of Czech Easter in the stalls such as painted Easter eggs, baked Easter lambs and cross buns or typical Easter whipper. You can buy them as a souvenir for your friends and relatives or just for memory of your trip to our country. On the Old Town Square, there will be a stage, where you can admire Czech Easter traditions that are nowadays held almost only in small towns and villages. The Easter markets runs from the 8th to the 30th March 2008. Easter is first of all a Christian holy day. There are many Easter Masses in Prague offered in various languages besides Czech. The services are held in English, Spanish or in Vietnamese, on Sundays also in Latin, Italian, French, Polish, German and Slovak. It belongs to the most romantic places here, ideal for couples, when the gardens and parks wake up from winter dormancy and flowers begin to bloom. When the sky is clear, you can have a brilliant view of the whole city from the Petrín lookout tower, the copy of Paris Eiffel tower. When talking about the nature and green it is necessary to mention also Easter in Prague Botanic Garden.
