Planning your trip to Prague

Congratulations! You are about to make your decision and visit one of the most beautiful destinations in the world - Prague, Czech Republic!

To ease your decision, help with your trip planning and provide you with some useful information here goes a checklist of most popular questions and answers. If you find it useful for you, please spread the news - if you believe we have missed something, let us know so we can improve.
Q: What is the best time to visit Prague?
A:
It really depens on your mood, interests and budget preferences. Prague itself has a really lots to offer, no matter if it is a winter or summer time. Among famous Prague highlights are cultural events, e.g. Prague Spring Festival, rock stars concerts, sport events happening all year long.
To see Prague in bloom we suggest to visit Prague during April to June (not to mention favorite Prague Easters!), to enjoy Vltava river boat trips or most romantic summer sunsets there is a perfect time between July and September. If you prefer a bit of late summer melanchony with an touch of autumn, come over in October. Very popular are Prague Christmas Markets with a famous Prague Christmas tree during whole December - and New Year's Parties in Prague are the most popular ever since 1989.
Some travellers prefer to visit Prague under the cover of snow in January - mid March season, which is also great for budget saving Prague visitors due to low prices there.

Q: When should I decide?
A:
As soon as you are ready :) However you should be aware that to find the place you will really enjoy should be done couple of weeks ahead. Especially during top season (April - June, September - October), weekends or top terms (Easters, last week of April, end of August, New Year's Eve) it might be hard to find the best place or change your bookings. Therefore 4-6 weeks ahead is just about the right time to arrange everything to fit your needs. Large groups (15+ persons) are an exception and should contact us directly (3-4 months).

Q: How do I pay? What currencies are accepted in Czech? What is the exchange ratio?
A:
For individual travelers: most of the time you pay directly at the hotel or apartment, either in Czech cash (see Czech banknotes), we only need a valid credit card guarantee for the property - in case of late cancellation or no show they will usually charge full 1st night fee to provided credit card. Few properties do require a partial deposit or full prepayment - you will be noticed during booking process about it.
To make the bookings easier for you we provide all prices primary in EUR but the only valid currency in Czech Republic is ceska koruna (CZK). Therefore there might be a slight change in total payments at the time you pay due to exchange ratio changes. Here goes basic exchange ratios (without a warranty):

1.000 CZK in U.S.dollars <> 1.000 USD in CZK
1.000 CZK in Euros <> 1.000 EUR in CZK
1.000 CZK in British Pounds <> 1.000 GBP in CZK
1.000 CZK in Australian dollars <> 1.000 AUD in CZK
1.000 CZK in Canadian dollars <> 1.000 CAD in CZK
1.000 CZK in Switz Francs <> 1.000 CHF in CZK

Q: Should I stay in a hotel or apartment?

A:
Again, it is solely up to your decision. All properties on our website are personally selected with you in mind, personally rechecked to fit our quality criteria. In general you should go for a hotel if you do not want to care about anything but your vacation, business and you need a full service. However if you like to have a breakfast on your own (at the time you select feeling like at home on Sunday's morning), prefer larger space and want to save money you could check apartments instead.

Q: What are the hotels, apartments and rooms "classification" like?
A:
Since Czech Republic is a part of European Union you should expect truly European standards.
As for the Hotels or Apartments you should expect:
3**** Standard Class - Rooms with private facilities, breakfast usually included in the price, direct phone, Sat/Cable TV in rooms. Safe deposit at the reception, which is usually in service 24 hours a day. Foreign language speaking staff.
