Prague´s Main Railway Station You maybe know the Prague's main railway station (Praha Hlavní Nádraží) is the largest railway station in Prague. It's old name is the Wilson station (Wilsonovo nádraží). It is the home of Czech speed trains – Pendolinos. Here you will find long-distance trains, for example: to Germany (Munich, Nuremberg, Bavaria-Bohemia RE (Regio-Express) and EuroCity/EuroNight services to Amsterdam, Berlin and Dresden), France (the Paris – Stuttgart – Prague), Poland (Krakow, Warsaw), Slovakia (Bratislava) and Hungary (Budapest). Also local and regional trains goes here: to larger czech towns like Brno, Pilsen (Plzeň), Liberec, České Budějovice, Olomouc and Ostrava.
Praha Hlavní Nádraží is also a metro station. It lies on the line C (Red line). It is 3 stations away from the Prague Holesovice railway station (Praha Holesovice), which is also on the „red“ line C.
Even when the reconstruction was delayed (until 2010), we can see the face of the largest secession building of Prague changing to the good, hopefully. Prague Main railway station has suffered many years not just of the notorious D1 expressway, built right in front of it includes adding shops, improving the ticketing areas, restoring the historical section, and adding security around the station. Now, is some reconstruceted block opened - such as favourite restaurant Burger King. See location of Prague´s Main Railway station and plan your trip! Comments (0)
