Woody Allen arrival to Prague
American director, actor and occasional clarinettist Woody Allen will come to the Prague later this year to play a concert with his New Orleans Jazz Band. The concert is scheduled to take place on 20 December at the Congress Centre in Prague.
But Woody Allen is mainly director and created more than 40 movies in about as many years. His latest one, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, hits Czech cinemas on Thursday, 23rd of October. Two girlfriends on a summer holiday in Spain become enamored with the same painter, unaware that his ex-wife, with whom he has a tempestuous relationship, is about to re-enter the picture. Here goes some informations about this band: A “premier trombonist of the New Orleans style”, Jerry began studying music at the age of 12. While growing up in Connecticut, he performed in a variety of marching bands, drum corps, jazz bands, brass quintets, classical orchestras, and later earned degrees in Performance and Music Education at the University Of Connecticut.
For over a decade, Jerry Zigmont has been playing and touring with Woody Allen & The Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band . His trombone playing is steeped in the classic New Orleans tradition, with its trademark raw power and "straight form the heart" approach. He is featured on the band soundtrack recording Wild Man Blues and has performed extensively with the group in Europe, South America, Turkey and Greece. Jerry Zigmont plays a S.E. Shires Company trombone.
